LOCATIONS

Welcome to Henry's Salt of the Sea, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Allentown, PA. Known for its commitment to fresh, high-quality seafood, this restaurant has become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike. Located at 1926 W Allen St, Allentown, PA 18104, Henry's Salt of the Sea offers a charming and nostalgic atmosphere that evokes the classic seafood dining experience.

As you step inside, you are greeted by a warm ambiance reminiscent of old-school dining. The walls are lined with nautical decor, creating an inviting space where you can unwind and savor each bite. The customers' reviews consistently speak to the exceptional service and the attention given to every detail. As one diner, Paul E., mentioned, the "scallop daily special" was unforgettable, highlighting the culinary expertise of the kitchen.

The menu at Henry's is a true seafood lover's paradise, offering an array of appetizers and entrees that are both creative and comforting. Notable appetizers include:

  • Brown Sugar Bacon Scallops - $13.95
  • Maryland Lump Crab Cake - $14.95
  • Escargot with Garlic Butter - $10.95

These dishes perfectly set the stage for the main event: the seafood entrees. Here, you might indulge in a Broiled Seafood Combination for $41.95, featuring an impressive selection of lobster, scallops, and crab-stuffed shrimp. The flavors are expertly crafted, with each item treated with respect to its freshness and quality. As Melissa C. noted, the "surf and turf" is an experience in itself, where the steak "melted in our mouths" and the lobster tail was fresh and succulent.

For those looking for warmth and comfort, Henry's also offers delightful soups such as the Baked Onion Au Gratin for $6.95, which harmonizes perfectly with many of the seafood dishes. The consistent praises from diners, like Amanda K., reveal a restaurant that places emphasis not just on food, but on crafting memorable dining experiences.

And let’s not forget about dessert—an essential part of any meal at Henry's Salt of the Sea. The homemade ice cream and featured items, like the Key Lime Pie, have left diners swooning, making them an ideal ending to your seafood adventure.

Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special celebration, like Carlo I.'s mother’s 80th birthday, the commitment to excellent food and service shines through. As Jose N. and Zenayda A. aptly put it, “hard to get a seat, but the food is great.” Reservations are indeed a must at this popular establishment, but the experience you receive is well worth the effort.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Allentown, make sure to stop by Henry's Salt of the Sea. You will be welcomed with open arms and treated to a symphony of flavors that celebrate the bounty of the ocean. As evidenced by the glowing reviews, it is a place where memories are made and shared over the joy of great seafood. Dive in, and experience the magic for yourself!

I wish I would have taken pictures but this is not the kind of place you whip out your phone. The scallop daily special was amazing but the Caesar Salad and the homemade ice-cream are hard to forget. So glad we were able to get a table while we were in town. Don pass this place by. You'll be glad you stopped and consider yourself lucky to get a seat.

First time dining here and all I can say is my hubby and I will definitely be back! Love the old school atmosphere. Had a reservation for 7 was sat and greeted by 7:15. Holly was our server and was pleasant and on point. We ordered some appetizers, bacon scallops and cold jumbo lump crab. Excellent and fresh! Dinner was surf and turf. Melted in our mouth, steak was cooked to perfection and the tail was fresh and the brown butter topped it all off! Excellent can't wait to go back!

An absolute classic. It's been 20 years since I last visited Henry's and I swear it's exactly the same. In a great way. The inside looks and feels like home (if that makes sense) old school vibe. The service is amazing. My waitress was wonderful and very charming. The crab cakes were exactly as I remembered. More crab than filling. I hate crab cakes w too much breading. These were perfection. Please don't ever change!!!

Old school seafood restaurant. You need a reservation, but worth it. Seafood Fra Diavlo is my favorite and the Escargot is awesome and buttery. Been here twice now and everything we've tried has been great!

So happy to be back on a date with my husband! Jaime was an exceptional sever. Friendly, very efficient and appreciative of our patronage. The food is full of excellent flavor and the presentation is true perfection. You may want to save room for appetizers and dessert. Key lime pie was one of the features tonight. We will be returning soon!
